Has your usual makeup become a lot more expensive lately, or perhaps you just want to support Canadian companies? 🍁 Here is a list of Canadian cosmetics companies that you’ll want to seriously consider. (And one of them is a cosmetics juggernaut that you may not have even known is Canadian!)

Why You Might Like Them
A strong option if you want to support an Indigenous-owned Canadian beauty company while still having access to a polished, mainstream makeup range.
👉 Cheekbone is also one of the easier brands on this list to find through a major beauty retailer.

Cheekbone makes a growing selection of products in Canada rather than its entire line. Sustain Lipstick and Courage Cream Lip + Cheek are specifically identified by the company as Made in Canada.
They have a dedicated “Made in Canada” page on their Shopify site.

Pure Anada stands out because it actually operates its own cosmetics manufacturing facilities in Manitoba. That gives the company direct control over its formulations and production rather than relying primarily on an outside contract manufacturer.
It is a particularly good fit for shoppers interested in natural and organic-leaning beauty products.

The company clearly discloses two important exceptions: its nail polish is made in the United States and its pencils are made in Italy.

If you want the simplicity of going into a store to buy Canadian-made cosmetics, then Groupe Marcelle is a good option for you.
They currently have 4 brands of cosmetics that they make and sell:

- CW Beggs and Sons (a mens line)
What They Make
According to this article from the Vancouver Sun they make over 8 million products per year. And they have over 1,200 SKUs according to their company’s president David Cape. (Source)

Why You Might Like Them
GELCARE is a good option for shoppers who want a Canadian-made gel manicure system rather than conventional air-dry nail polish.
The Montreal brand grew out of professional nail-salon experience and develops its products with chemists, industry experts and nail artists, with an emphasis on helping customers achieve salon-style results at home.
What They Make

GELCARE is a Montreal-based nail-care company who makes SOME of their UV gel polishes in Canada. Plus, some of their gel polishes are made in China.
They have put a “Made in Canada” collection together if you want to just hone in on their Canadian-made products.
The company also makes a number of its nail-care and manicure-preparation products in Canada. Its traditional air-dry Nail Polish collection, however, is made in the United States, with bottles made in Italy.

Muse Gel states that its products are handmade in small batches in Ontario, Canada.
The brand also emphasizes HEMA-free and TPO-free gel formulas and describes its products as vegan and cruelty-free.
A more specific public manufacturing location was not verified during our research, but they say they hand-pour each bottle and their company contact information lists Richmond Hill, Ontario as their home base.
